Household television product which is an indispensable recreational product in the family unit has become a mature steady product in the household appliances field. Behind a well-known television brand contains successful technical design, perfect art design and marketing design. Focus from the art design angle, the paper based on the principle of Semiotics has systemic analyzed the symbol identity of television in consumption culture deeply.First, by historic evolution of television, the paper explores the breakthrough of products in development. The symbol form including structure symbol, function symbol, color symbol, material symbol, brand symbol and so on are analyzed.Secondly, through market research, using TRIZ innovative design theory, the paper has put humanization and innovative design to the problems of conflict existed in controller's shape symbol, keystroke symbol and operating problems. Controller with the explicit meaning and implied meaning of symbol were introduced and its operating rules in practical application were elaborated.Finally, the symbol character of future television and consumer's symbol consumption of products tendency in non-material social were elaborated.The results showed that it is necessary to establish differences of product symbol form and focus on the design principle of "what we have are excellent, others do not have what we have" in order to get television products remain invincible. In the television symbol consumption culture wave, consumers have changed their conception from the major consumption "material value" to major consumption brand "symbol value". Brand symbols have become important decision-making tools to lead consumers purchase. In addition, home environment, earning, study, age, sex, taste have also become television consumption factors. With the rise of flat television, consumer has lead to consume Plasma Display Panel and Liquid Crystal Display television.The research and continuation can be integrated the study of physiological and psychological aspects and the actual market conditions to build a development system of household television products symbol form, which can offer television product design assistance and the innovation opportunities and design opportunities for products investigation from users to design strategies as a starting point.
