The previous study of the aesthetics of Chuang Tsu usually discussed the object and the consciousness of the aesthetics, or analyzed the impact of philosophy on its esthetics. This paper tries to show its whole through parts and investigate the essence of the beauty of Chuang Tsu and find out 'Tao' of its philosophy. The 'Tao"s fruitfulness and diversity of his philosophy are showed through the concrete study of the aesthetics of Chuang Tsu.The core of the philosophy of Chuang Tsu is the natural 'Tao'. He argues that the 'beauty' is rooted in the nature of 'Tao'. 'Tao' is the philosophical foundation of 'beauty'. Chuang Tsu stresses on the natural principle of 'Tao' and the regulative character of the beauty. That is to say, in Chuang Tsu the natural dimension of aesthetics embodies the higher unity of The Heaven and men in the horizon of the Heaven-man in the original word. As we consider the transcendence and generality of 'Tao', we can response to the way the west discuss the essence of the beauty through the relations of reason and sense, content and form. The perfection of the being is rooted in the whole of 'Tao' which is the opposite of the nature or the defects of the reality. It is not the absolute opposite of the nature but include the supplement of the defects. It is the perfection of the thing-in-itself and the thing-for-itself.Through the original world entering into the state of the existence of the human being, the 'beauty' of Chuang Tsu is not just separated from the existence of the human being rather than yearn for the ideal character and the pursuit of the free state. In fact, its particular aesthetics state is the return to the concrete and the real existence of the human being. Chuang Tsu yearns for the way of 'the absolute perfection'. This is the return to the Heaven and actually it is the return to 'Tao'. The destination of the ideal character is the free state of aesthetics which is the coexistence of 'the human being and the nature'. This state is the highest beauty and it is also the same meaning of 'Tao'. He points out that the nature and the human being unite together as long as we take the attitude of extra-utility and the human being would be the naturalized state and get the freedom and beauty of spirit. The free spirit of aesthetics of Chuang Tsu in fact is the investigation and spread of the ideal character of aesthetics.'Tao' is its foundation and 'You' is its core. The state of 'You' which Chuang Tsu pursuits is the liberation of the spirit and is the same of 'Tao', and it is the state of 'Tao'.
