Philanthropies Carried On By The Congregation Of The Immaculate Heart Of Mary At The Western Part Of Inner Mongolia After The Middle Period Of 19～(th) Century

The study of Catholicism and its activities in Inner Mongolia is one of the most important subjects in the study of the modern history of Inner Mongolia. The academic circles have learned different part of the situation about the spreading of Catholicism in Inner Mongolia, especially learned its aggression which carried on to the Inner Mongolia area in the course of its spreading of Catholicism. However, very few people have paid attention to its philanthropies carried on by the Catholicism in its spreading process. This article attempts to use the theory and research technique of history, social and religion, inquires into the Catholicism of the western part of Inner Mongolia of this period, in order to demonstrate the complete picture of the philanthropies and the influences which were carried on by the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the western part of Inner Mongolia after the middle period of 19th century. The full text was divided into five parts:The first part was an introduction. It mainly expounded the general situation of Catholicism and the Catholicism's research situation in Inner Mongolia.The second part discussed the dissemination situation of the Catholicism in the Inner Mongolian area.The third part comprehensively elaborated the philanthropies carried on by the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the western part of Inner Mongolia. These philanthropies mainly included catholic education, medical enterprises, farming and forestry enterprises, famine relief and so on.
