To meet the needs of educational improvement, Hoton area has developed varieties of experimental classes of bilingual education and has made encouraging progress. So far, quite a few studies on bilingual education have been reported. However, we haven't read publications on overall instructional design of bilingualism in the Hoton area. In an attempt to establish pedagogical theories of bilingualism, it is essential to collect experience and materials based on the regions where minority nationalities live in compact communities, for instance, Hoton area.Based on the research into bilingual education in Hoton area, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the present study aims to find out pedagogical theories to guide the Chinese teaching around this area.Selecting primary and middle schools in Hoton area as subjects, this thesis discusses the current situation of bilingual education in Hoton area, in the light of views form the perspectives of linguistics, anthropology, and pedagogy.
