During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Jiangxi is the front war region. The strategic location is extremely important for she has many strategic military airfield (for example Yushan). The allied armies airplane carries on the strategic air bombing to the date combat and to the Japanese native place. Therefore, Jiangxi Province was one of the most serious victims of Japan's bateriological attack. The Japanese military committed 2 large-scale bateriological attack in 1940 and in 1942 to Jiangxi Shangrao area. The Japanese forces used the unify method which the airborne sow bacterium and the ground delivery . Many diseases, including pestilence, cholera, anthrax and typhoid caused thousands of death. Besides the shangrao, the Japanese forces also have implemented small scale bacterium combat to Jiangxi other areas.Jiangxi bacterial warfare by Japanese invaders has caused the extremely serious harm. Infectious disease (such as plague) caused Jiangxi populace's massive deaths, caused the populace to fall into epidemic disease thanatophobia, harassed society's normal order. The injured survivors of the bacteriological warfare is bearing the grief which loses the relative and the illness of one's own human body for a long time. Bacteriological warfare pollution in natural environment has a long-term destruction. In the old epidemic-stricken area, the emergence of diseases such as plague , anthrax ,etc. still has potential possibility .The bacteriological warfare by Japanese invaders has left a century scar in Sino-Japanese relations.
