During the war of aggression against China,in order to conquer China quickly,Japan set up many bacterial warfare troops or bacterial production centers in China, and carried out bacterial warfare many times, which made the vast majority of Chinese soldiers and civilians suffer greatly. The bacterial warfare of Cholera in Western Shandong in 1943 was a typical case of Japan's bacterial warfare against China. In 1943,under the background of the world anti-fascist war and the situation of anti-Japanese war has begun to change in favor of China, the Japanese army, which is difficult to change the situation through conventional operations, decided to destroy the strategic anti-Japanese base area in Western Shandong through bacterial warfare and reverse its decline. In January 1943,the Japanese army began to prepare for the bacteriological warfare of cholera in Western Shandong. The Japanese army laid the foundation for the launching of the bacteriological warfare through the preparation of soldiers training, cholera vaccination and collection of military key geographical records. From late August to early September 1943,it was the first stage of bacterial cholera warfare in Western Shandong. In this stage, the Japanese army seized the opportunity of rainfall in the Weihe River Basin, first caused floods by destroying the Weihe River embankment, and then spread cholera bacteria. From mid-September to late October,it was the second stage of bacterial cholera warfare in Western Shandong Province. In this stage, the Japanese conventional forces dispatched troops to the epidemic areas to fight in the epidemic areas. At the same time,it also plundered other materials such as grain.Bacterial warfare of cholera in Western Shandong has caused floods and cholera epidemics in Western Shandong and southern Hebei in Weihe River Basin, which has caused a large number of deaths and huge losses to the people in Western Shandong and Southern Hebei, and caused untold suffering to the people. The Japanese army has basically achieved its combat objectives. From late August to early September 1943,the Japanese army seized the opportunity of rainfall in the Weihe River Basin.First,it caused floods by destroying the Weihe River embankment, and then spread cholera bacteria. From mid-September to late October, the Japanese conventional forces sent troops to the epidemic area, while fighting in the epidemic area, they also plundered food and other materials.Bacterial warfare of cholera in Western Shandong has caused floods and cholera epidemics in Western Shandong and Southern Hebeiin Weihe River Basin, which has caused a large number of deaths and huge losses to the people in Western Shandong and southern Hebei, and caused untold suffering to the people. In order to cope with the epidemic situation and disaster caused by cholera bacterial warfare in Western Shandong Province, the local people and the government of the anti-Japanese base area under the leadership of the Communist Party of China have carried out a series of work in medical relief. The people have been treated by local methods such as acupuncture and moxibustion. In addition to the measures of preventing cholera spread through local disinfection, organizing medical personnel to treat cholera for the people, the provincial and southern provincial administrative departments have also adopted local methods to treat cholera.Through the measures of saving, relieving and helping the victims, the epidemic situation and disaster situation have been alleviated, and the people's recognition of the base government has been strengthened. It has been nearly eighty years since the Bacterial Warfare of Cholera in Western Shandong, but there are different opinions about the number of deaths caused by the Bacterial Warfare of Cholera in Western Shandong. This paper demonstrates the controversial number of deaths caused by the Bacterial Warfare of Cholera in Western Shandong. On the basis of in-depth analysis of the confessions of prisoners of war and local historical records, combined with sociological and epidemiological analysis of cholera, the population caused by the Bacterial Warfare of Cholera in Western Shandong is estimated The death toll ranged from36,000 to 52,000.
