Yinyi Ci played a very important role among the Ci Works in both Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. A piece of Ci Works named Yu Gezi, created by Zhang Zhihe in the mid-Tang Dynasty, is the first Yinyi Ci, and since then, Yinyi Ci began to develop, and reached its peak during Southern Song Dynasty.The paper is divided into two parts. The first part introduced the literary origin, the cause, and the connotation of Yinyi Ci, and the other part described the developing trace of Yinyi Ci, which was divided into three stages. The author explained and analyzed the Ci works of representative writers in respective stages, with which the author traced Southern Song's Yinyi Ci, from"Xi Zhen paradigm"to"Jia Xuan paradigm", and back to"Xi Zhen paradigm"in the end.Chapter I describes the origin of Yinyi literature and Yinyi Ci of Southern Song Dynasty's succession from Chuang Tzu. The earliest Yinyi literature can be traced back to Chuang Tzu which was created in the Warring States period .
