The Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty is an important interim in the development of the Neo-Confucianism. It takes important position during the whole history of the Neo-Confucianism of Song and Ming Dynasty. But, for a long time, the study is lack of attention. So, in this article I mainly select some important persons in the early of Ming Dynasty, such as Cao Duan, Xue Xuan, Wu Yubi, and Chen Xianzhang. Through the research on their thought, I try to get the characters of the Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty. At the end, I would make the appraisal about the status of the Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty. I think that the study on it will be important academic significance.At the stage of initial Ming Dynasty, Cheng and Zhu's Confucianism is already on the top of the thought, its position is second to none. The development of the Neo-Confucianism is fettered by Zhu Xi's Confucianism. However, at the beginning of Ming Dynasty, it emerges many renowned Confucians. Some of them have the most typical thought, for example, Cao Duan, Xue Xuan, Wu Yubi, and Chen Xianzhang. The Neo-Confucianism has a great development through their research. So from that we can see the characters of the Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty.Regarding the characters of the Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty, generally, this paper sums 4 up: (1) Study Cheng and Zhu's Confucianism and query them. (2) Continue the academic ethos of synthesizing the thoughts of Zhu and Lu. (3) The Mind theory becomes the center of the academic discussion gradually. (4) Value the morals, emphasize doing efforts on the "Mind".This article emphasizes that the characters of the Neo-Confucianism in the early of Ming Dynasty means the status of Zhu Xi's Confucianism is descending.
