Teleplay rhetoric is the organization and adjustment towards the narrative discourse of teleplay, by which the teleplay document can achieve the best expression under the specific linguistic environment. Ideal teleplay rhetoric has its deep structure which should be made up by the form and the meaning.With a few years in the new century, the discourse power and the rhetoric potential energy of Chinese teleplay in the aesthetic practice have been released and strengthened in many works with an unprecedented scale, which greatly enhance the overall cultural quality and the aesthetic standards of the Chinese teleplay. However, everything has its two sides. When teleplay's aesthetic pursuit is more and more conspicuous and its discourse power being strengthened, an abuse of teleplay rhetoric is emerging, which can be summarized as the rhetorical form's departing from the rhetorical meaning. And this issue will not only distort the artistic presenting of teleplay, but also lead to a lack of audience's confidence in the rhetoric form of teleplay. The academic thesis is based on the awareness of the need to solve this issue.In current aesthetic practice of teleplay, the rhetorical form's departing from the rhetorical meaning, according to the dissimilarity of degree, can be divided into three types, they are dislocation of form and meaning, form's rebelling to meaning and form's revelry with meaning's absence. The market competition in TV culture industry become more and more fierce, which forces producers of teleplay to try their best to promote the aesthetic perception of teleplay's form. And the fact that some producers of teleplay are lacking in cultural details and aesthetic accomplishment finally causes the issue of the rhetorical form's departing from the rhetorical meaning.Successful rhetoric models of teleplay tell us that, in order to make the rhetorical form agree with the rhetorical meaning, producers of teleplay should follow the following aesthetic bases: constructing a deep rhetorical linguistic environment, having a mature thought before creating the teleplay document, trying a aesthetic combination of the meaning and the form rules, grafting the meaning to the narrative structure rhetorically, considering the rhetoric as the meaning's poetry carrier and so on.Great sound is soundless, great image is invisible. Due to the same reason, nil rhetoric should be the highest degree of the teleplay rhetoric, which also should be the developing direction and one of the mature aesthetic landmarks of the Chinese teleplay rhetoric.
