A Study Of Rhetoric Feature In Liu Cixin's The Three-Body Problem

Liu Cixin is one of the representatives of contemporary Chinese sci-fi literature and is known as the leading figure in China's science fiction circle.In 1985,after graduating from the North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower,Liu Cixin returned to Shanxi and worked as a computer engineer at Niangziguan Power Plant.He used his spare time to continue his novel creation.In 1999,his first sci-fi book Whale Song and Microscopic End was published.In the same year,his work "Bring Her Eyes" also won the first prize of the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award.Since then,his creative enthusiasm has been rising,and he has published articles in "Science and Fiction World".He has won China's highest sci-fi fiction Galaxy Award for eight consecutive years.In 2015,he won the 73 rd Hugo Award for the Best Long Story Award for “Three-body”,bringing China Science Fiction to a new height.His major works include the novels Supernova,Ball Lightning,Three-body,Three-body II: Dark Forest,Three-body III: Death and Eternity,and the Middle and Short Stories have “Microscopic Ends”.,“Block-wide jamming interference” and “Zhao Wen Dao”,etc.Since Liu Cixin's works have entered people's field of vision,people are not only surprised by their exquisite scientific conception,but their unique language application abilities have also aroused people's attention.The trilogy trilogy,which won the Hugo Award,the Global Chinese Sci-Fi Nebula Award,and national awards for outstanding children's literature,was widely considered to be the best representative of Liu Cixin.However,up till now,there have been many studies on Liu Cixin's novel "Three-body" trilogy,but most of them have remained on the analysis of characters,themes of works,narrative methods,aesthetics,and other literary aspects,systematically and meticulously from linguistics.There are fewer articles on Liu Cixin's work.Therefore,this article will focus on the most attractive and triumphant trilogy in Liu Cixin's winning works,plots and language,and classify the rhetorical phenomena that emerged,combining linguistics,rhetoric,and other basic theories.Using corpus statistical methods,literature research methods,description and interpretation methods to analyze the corpus,then to analyze the characteristics of Liu Cixin's language rhetoric,trying to grasp the rhetoric features of Liu Cixin's novel language as a whole.In analyzing the rhetoric phenomenon of the trilogy trilogy,the author discovered that Liu Cixin comprehensively used a large number of rhetorical devices such as speech,words,sentences,and rhetorical devices.These rhetorical devices are intertwined with each other in the text and make the articles vivid.It also increased its artistic expression and reflected Liu Cixin's unique language skills.Therefore,the thesis describes and explains the rhetoric phenomena that appear in the works around four aspects: phonetic rhetoric,lexical rhetoric,sentence rhetoric,and rhetorical figures.The whole article is divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction.The introduction part mainly introduces Liu Cixin's works overview,research status,research significance and research methods,and source description of the corpus;the second part,from the perspective of phonetic rhetoric,The use of overlapping,onomatopoeic,double-sounding words,and pleated words appearing in the text are analyzed,and the rhythm and the rhetorical effects of the beauty of music are analyzed.In the third part,from the perspective of lexical rhetoric,Various kinds of rhetoric words appearing in the discussion,such as the precise use of words,the use of color words features and functions,as well as the use of idioms and the use of four-character words with the characteristics of the analysis,found that the author's creation focuses on the meaning of the word,the use of reasonable language increases Science fiction literary.In the fourth part,from the point of view of the characteristics of the sentences,we carefully classify the various sentences with rhetorical phenomena that appear in the text,and analyze the characteristics of the sentences in the text,from the long and short sentences,the whole verse,and the word “be” in the sentence “being”.The interrogative sentences and imperative sentences,the selection reasons and rhetoric features of these sentence patterns are analyzed in detail.In addition,the analysis of the extraordinary collocations within the words,from the two major aspects,analyzes the sentence rhetoric features of the novel language;the fifth part is A comprehensive analysis of the rhetorical figures that appeared in the novel,and a more detailed analysis of the rhetorical figures that appeared,such as moremetaphors and personifications;the sixth part is the conclusion part,which mainly summarizes the research results of this article and points out the article's Problems and inadequacies.
