The Thorn Birds is the masterpiece of Colleen McCullough, the famous Australian female writer, and Undying Hatred of Love is the representative of Wang Anyi, one of the influenced female writers in China. Although two novels come from two different countries and have different historical settings, they still have similarities in certain parts. Over a long period of time, the critics paid more attention on the characters of the themes and emotional experiences; they obviously ignore the similarities of the two heroines. Two beautiful girls are attracted by the emotional illusion, they made hard efforts to gain their lovers' adoration and then were abandoned mercilessly. The two beauties had to spend their life lonely. Although, two heroines' life experience is similar, based on the differences of two countries' cultural background, two female writers arranged entirely different life endings for two heroines. Based on the cultural differences and the feminist functions in two countries, the paper attends to analyze their emotional experiences and failures to explore the reason of the entirely life ending. Although so many critics about The Thorn Birds and Undying Hatred of Love, few paper devoted to compare their similarities and differences from the angle of feminist study. However it was the message in these essays that attracted and enlightened me and led me finally to decide to take up the topic for my MA thesis.In the process of globalization, either man or woman will be put into the world cultural construction and literary destructiveness. Feminist studiers should have clearly introspection about themselves. The extreme attitudes about feminism have no effect on the development of world feminist literary criticism. The opposite of differences isn't the same, it is the harmony. Chinese feminist activities will advocate the woman's independence and have the tender attitude non-antagonism method to tolerance to gain the equality between man and woman. While materials on the writers of the two novels are highly available, comments from the perspective of feminism literary criticism are very limited.
