The article divides Tang Dynasty's Yuefu poems into three periods: the Early and High Tang Dynasty, the Middle Tang Dynasty and the Late Tang Dynasty. The Early and High Tang Dynasty was the key period for Yuefu poems to change from Six Dynasties to Tang Dynasty, literati in the Early and High Tang Dynasty succeeded abundant artistic achievements of ancient Yuefu poems, and endeavored to change Yuefu poems in order to attain vitality. Imitating the ancient titles of Yuefu poems was the characteristic of Yuefu poems in the Early and High Tang Dynasty, a large number of past titles and poems appeared, with rich content and powerfully energetic, the Early and High Tang Dynasty's poets not only imitated past content, but also did innovation by using Yuefu poems to express appeal and character in their works, which reflected certain era features. Literati in the Early and High Tang Dynasty had intense individual consciousness about assimilating artistic achievements of ancient Yuefu poems, they renewed Yuefu poems' former appearance intentionally and retained Yuefu poems' special artistic quality. Literati in the Middle Tang Dynasty shouldered voluntarily the responsibility of rescuing nationality and resurging country. Compared to ancient Yuefu poems, the Middle Tang Dynasty's Yuefu poems were endowed more serious and profound content about society, the writing of which had much consciousness to make Yuefu poems' artistic form fit the allegory content expressed. New Yuefu poems' language was simple in the Middle Tang Dynasty, which changed intricate style of poetic language. Simple language was beneficial for expressing thoughts and achieving the aim of comprehending society. New Yuefu Poems Movements happened in the Middle Tang Dynasty, provided new theme about current events for Yuefu poems, and made the theme attain stable "position" through systematic theories and successful writing .which influenced descendants' understanding and writing about Yuefu poems profoundly. There were two writing trends in the Late Tang Dynasty: one group renewed intentionally traditional Yuefu poems in Han Dynasty and the Kingdom of Wei, inherited New Yuefu poems' writing spirit of attacking social abuse, such as Liu Jia and Pi Rixiu. The other group expressed love in Yuefu poems, paid attention to inner being, and created a new poetic mood with subtle feelings, such as Wen Tingyun and Li Shangyin.
