Research On Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems

There are more than 100 Yuefu Poems by Zhou Zizhi,a writer in the Song Dynasty,and they are in the forefront of the Song Dynasty.His theoretical work Zhu Po Poetry Criticism and the preface and postscript to the poems contain critical discussions on Yuefu Poems.This paper takes Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems as the research object,and analyzes it from four perspectives: Zhou Zizhi’s life and Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems’ s ideological content,creative characteristics,and literary historical significance.The first chapter briefly discusses Zhou Zizhi’s life experience.Zhou Zizhi has a wide range of readings,and carefully pondered the poetry of the previous generation,thus laying a good foundation for her literary creation;on the other hand,he made friends with Li Zhiyi,Lu Haowen and his son,and was deeply influenced by Yuanyou Poetics and Jiangxi Poetry School.When the Northern and Southern Song Dynasties were replaced,the family and country suffered.Zhou Zizhi had avoided the army and chaos in the mountains and forests several times.Difficult situations and living conditions prompted him to create a large number of poems that recorded the difficulties and reflected the people’s misery.After Zhou Zizhi entered office,due to the change of social status and social environment,more works of honor and work were produced,and there was an obvious tendency to praise virtues.The second chapter analyzes the ideological content of Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems.Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems are divided into Ancient Title Yuefu Poems and New Title Yuefu Poems.The ideological content of the Ancient Title Yuefu Poems includes expressing boudoir feelings,praising women’s virtues,discussing practical problems,revealing the way of life,expressing historical feelings,etc.,and has universal characteristics.The ideological content of the New Title Yuefu Poems includes reflecting social reality,chanting history,imitating boudoir feelings,congratulating people on their birthdays,and reciting personal daily life.Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems show a positive tendency to help the world,which is consistent with his Yuefu Poems thought of “beneficial to social education”.The third chapter discusses the creative characteristics of Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems.Zhou Zizhi’s Ancient Title Yuefu Poems take the simulation of the old chapters of Yuefu as the main creative method,and pay special attention to the inheritance of the original meaning of the Ancient Title.On the other hand,on the basis of following the ancients,it also innovates by expanding and extending the original meaning,enriching the plot of the original story,integrating modern events into ancient topics,and changing the original style of Yuefu ancient words.Zhou Zizhi’s New Title Yuefu Poems carries forward the narrative tradition of the New Yuefu in the Middle Tang Dynasty,creates vivid and specific narrative scenes,flexibly changes the narrative perspective,uses omission and focus to highlight the primary and secondary narratives,and combines other elements to assist the narrative of poetry.Secondly,in the recognition and study of Zhang Ji’s Yuefu style,a plain,natural and implicit style of poetry is formed,and at the same time,he is also good at smelting the words and artistic conception of the predecessors to create new ones.Compared with the Ancient Title Yuefu Poems that obviously imitated the Yuefu ancient words,Zhou Zizhi’s New Title Yuefu Poems are more innovative.The fourth chapter explores the literary historical significance of Zhou Zizhi’s Yuefu Poems.First of all,under the background of the the Song Dynasty advocating Tang Dynasty poetry,Zhou Zizhi responded theoretically to the New Yuefu poetics in the Middle Tang Dynasty and implemented it through creation.Secondly,in the development process of Yuefu Poems in Song Dynasty,Zhou Zizhi participated in the construction of the poetics system of Yuefu Poems in the Southern Song Dynasty,and his Yuefu Poems creation also actively conformed to the development trend of the times,reflecting the development trend of Song Dynasty Yuefu Poems.
