Chinese modern literature developed new literary forms and new series of protagonists, which benefited from the influences from the exotic thought and cultural resources presented in cultural collision between the orient and the Occident. The figure of Nora created by Ibsen was widely accepted and frequently copied in the texts of Chinese modern literature. Most importance was attached to the phenomenon. The modern female born to the Occident. started a tidal wave of female liberation and Individuality. The Chinese women who had suffered from serious oppression found an example that they could follow to revolt against the oppression. They also found a outlet for their spiritual pressure. They discovered a kind of new life by which they began to construct subjectivity. The nation of China which had been tyrannized frequently had an ideality to pursue autocephaly and establish modern nation-state. Under the promptings of the ideality, Chinese modern writers annotated Zeitgeist and illustrated their political and cultural ideas with the example of Nora. The authors integrated two kinds of two oppositions: that "Noras" fled from their house bravely symbolized the fact that modern China contrived to shake off the established order and configuration of being oppressed and enslaved, thus breaking through the encompassing of the foreign powers; the ethic and the order required of family that individuals rebelled against signified the the framework of international politics that China had sought to break away from. However, the excessive utilitarian literary awareness hindered the authors from pondering further, which led to the disfigurements of the works. "Noras" had transformed their identity from being the individual to the unity by leaving home to join the revolution. In fact, they escaped from the old system only to fall into the trap of a new system. The female-awareness and individuality was suppressed again after arousal. Chinese female was still faced with the challenges of survival brought about by the lack of proper economic sustainment and institutional protection.
