Yang Wujiu, courtesy name Buzhi and pseudonym Taochan Laoren, meaning an old man fleeing from Buddhist and also Qingyi Zhangzhe, is a painter and poet in Nandu period, Song dynasty. He has written a volume Flee from Buddhist of 177 poems. As a famous painter, his poem has seldom attracted attention. Currently, there are few researches on his volume Flee from Buddhist and no related books on his poem except for some articles about Yang Wujiu and his Flee from Buddhist. These papers focus on textual criticism on Yang Wujiu and his Flee from Buddhist, or genre analysis on his poem, or artistic analysis on his poem and painting. There is no research on the overall study on Flee from Buddhist. This paper, with Yang Wujiu and his Flee from Buddhist as research object, makes a whole study on his poems. In this paper, through combining methods of description, analysis and comparison, the author selects some representative poem in Flee from Buddhist and makes detailed analysis with efforts to display the overall image. The body part of this paper includes four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the analysis of Taoism’s influence on the contents of Ci-poetry of Entering into Religion as well as the ideal of Ci poet to escape from secular life, the wish for combined cultivation of body life and inner nature, and the yearning for return to innocence, pervaded with the color of romanticism. The second chapter analyzes the “pictorial illusion” in Flee from Buddhist from four aspects of circumstantial arrangements, color adherence to the type, outline and focus and combination of light and shadow to deeply analyze the artistic expression of “putting painting to poem”. The third chapter makes an analysis on the “poetic illusion” from three perspectives of topic content, words and phases and expression methods to explain the artistic feature of “poem as Ci”. The fourth chapter aims to explore the relation between his poem Flee from Buddhist and the poem circle in Nandu and further analyze deeply the status of Flee from Buddhist in poetry history.Great attention has been paid to Yang Wujiu’s painting instead of his poem. Taoism implied in his poem Flee from Buddhist, the expression method of “putting painting into poem” and “poetic” inclination makes this poem display special image, which needs further research.
