The thesis include two main point: one is how "-m" rhythm-end and "-p, -t, -k" rhythm-end change into other forms and what cause them disappear in the modern age Chinese ;The other is the specific time span of these changing take place. Most research think that bilabial consonant at the he ad of Chinese syllable cause the change of "-m" rhythm-end, and think it is the only element. According to the specific material of different times, the first chapter of this thesis think that there are more than one pattern of development of "-m" rhythm-end in different dialects of Chinese. With regard to what is the reason cause the disappearance of "-p,-t,-k" rhythm-end in the development of Chinese, it attach most attention to the relationship of main-vowels and consonant-end, and think that supra-segment(syllable length) as the main element causing the disappearance. At last chapter, it also discuss the relation of main-vowels and consonants in the sound system of modern age Chinese and their mutual influence.
