A lot of researchers of both literary and philosophical paid much attention to Albert Camus. People are fascinated by his legendary stories. They are fond of not only his early literary works, but also his political activities and the dispute between he and Sartre, especially his absurd death. All this resulted many works on Camus himself, the state of exist, absurd, and some researcher used "absurd philosophy" to conclude Camus's thought. The Stranger is the masterpiece of Albert Camus, which built an enduring monument in French literature. So this book became a magnum opus to every researcher. The thesis tries to make a conclusion in another point of view. From the background of Existentialism, the course of Albert Camus's thought, according as the existential literature and beyond the existential literature, the relationship between literature and philosophy, etc, to establish the status of The Stranger -the complexity of Camus's masterpiece.Existentialism is a very important philosophy trend of thought in modern west. It was very popular after the World War II in the west European and America, which attached great importance in the western philosophy of twentieth century and the way of thought. Most researchers believed that existentialism depends on the existential literature, which serves as a represent tool. But I am afraid I do not agree...
