In 20th century literature and cultural studies in China, there lacks the study of the spirit of Japanese nation, especially their tragic spirit and tragic aesthetics. In the middle of 20th century, the books on Japan by Daijitao and Japanese by Jiangbaili are illuminative, and then in late 20 years, there published some works about Japanese Chadao, Huadao and architecture and so on while in the field of literature there are mainly translation works and a few books of theoretic study.
