Cognitive Linguistics, a new frontier subject appeared in 1980s, is the science with cognition as its startpoint. " It is the science to study languages on the basis of people's experience on the world and their ways to perceive and conceptualize the world," that is to say, it from the way of cognition studies on the common rules appeared in the periods of language's producing, acquiring, using and understanding as well as the mode of language structure relating to thinking and memorizing.In life, the fixed way of cognizing is formed on the basis of the interaction between human beings and the outer world, that is the way of organizing and expressing our knowledge, which is not existed objectively, but created by people. This is the mode of cognition. It helps us to well know the world.The emotion regarded as the important constituent of humanity lives is abstract, therefore, uneasy to express. Theessay analyses the Chinese expression of people's basic emotions--enjoyment, anger, sorrow and fear from the points of linguistics, in order to furtherly know something about ways of expressing the basic feelings in Chinese through the study of cognitive mode.Firstly, the essay comments on the cognitive study achievements of emotional expression. With the rising of cognitive linguistics, people have realized that abstract feelings are expressed through the metaphor built on the basis of body's perception to the great extent, but as for how to express them, there is no common cognition. Emotional concept metaphor is still in a vague framework.
