With the development of globalization, the importance of English writing is becoming more and more evident. Accordingly, the teachers are much concerned with the ways of skillfully applying appropriate teaching methodologies to practice. On the one hand, it is important for the teachers to realize the necessity of improving students' writing proficiency; on the other hand, they ought to rationally analyze the related problems and factors that hold back the improvement in students'writing, and try to work out the solutions.Traditional English writing class is usually teacher-centered, in which the students'enthusiasm and creativity can not be fully motivated. It is a beneficial attempt to introduce the feedback theory to English writing class and combine it with appropriate teaching methods in order to promote students' writing proficiency to a great extent. This is significant in terms of both theory and practice.The hypothesis of the research is that the reasonable application of feedback theory can efficiently improve students'writing proficiency. In order to verify the hypothesis, a teaching experiment has been conducted for a term for obtaining convincing data and evidence.
