Validity Of Rorschach Aggression Variables

Aggression behaviors of human being are very complicated and researchs of them are various. Researching of aggression by the Rorschach test has begun for a long time. The Rorschach test can measure covert aggression, it is more superior than other methods in this point. Nowadays 8 aggression variables have been put forward to mearsure aggression overseas. However the researchs in this field are very rare in China, especially in children sample. This study tries to prove validity of these 8 variables and probes into trend of them in Chinese Children sample.This study select 60 students(high-score group of overt aggression behaviors has 30 students/low- score group of overt aggression behaviors has 30 students) from 311 forth-grade primary-school students by CBCL(for parents) and Conners Teacher Rating Scale. Then goes on the Rorschach test in these 60 students.The results show: 1.All aggression variables have high interior coherence, is acceptable. Reliability of grading is good. 2. The Rorschach aggression variables can measure children aggression behaviors.AG variable and AgC variable are more contributing than others. AG variable reflects ego-dystonic aggression and AgC variable reflects ego-syntonic aggression. The sexual difference contrast also reflects this kind of trend. 3. The factor analysis makes aggression variables form into two kinds: primitive aggression and sublimed aggression, accounting for 80.324% of the total variance. Primitive aggression maybe reflects ego-dystonic aggression and sublimed aggression maybe reflects ego-syntonic aggression.
