Aggression of human being is a very complicated behavior, one of all reasons is that it is intrinsic.Overt aggressive behaviors can be observed by the conventional methods easily, but individuals' intrinsic aggressive impulses was unavoidablely neglected. Various defensive verbalizations can be avoided by The Rorschach test while measuring intrinsic aggression. From 1940s the Rorschach test was used to assess aggression overseas. Then several Rorschach aggression variables were proposed by Holt, Exner, Gacono and Meloy successively. In order to propose A more integrity and reasonable classification of them, Both psychological tests and questionnaires are used to criminals in jails in this study to test the reliability and validity of these aggression variables for Chinese. Results of 118 criminals and 107 college students show that: 1) most Rorschach aggression variables tested in this study are acceptable (above 0.7); 2) and most Rorschach aggression variables can be used to distinguish criminals and normals obviously, so they are effective to measure individuals' intrinsic aggressive impulses; 3) Results of the factor analysis revealed that these aggression variables formed into four distinct factors (aggressive behavior, aftermath, victim of aggression, aggressor), and that these factors accounted for 68% of the total variance.
