The Multiple Investigation Of The Separable Structure "V+A_X(Attribute)+O"

In the former research of LIHECI , the study of LIHECI as a whole is more much than its subclass study and the formally description is more much than the theory explanation. So, the LIHECI's essential characteristics can't be revealed. This thesis focuses on the separable construction——"V+A_X+O". It describes the separable structure's syntactic characteristics and its semantic characteristics. In this base, we explain the source and the producing ways of the formal attribute by using Argument Structure theory and Construction Grammar. So, we uncover the inner motivation of the separable structure. In the last, we illuminate the external motivation of the separable structure by describing its pragmatic function.This thesis includes five parts:The first part is introduction. This part introduces the former study situation about the LIHECI and defines the scope, the object, the aim and the meanings of this essay.The second part is the syntactic analysis of separable structure"V+A_X+O". This part mainly reviews the components'properties and characters in the separable structure. Besides, this part analyzes shows what syntactic functions that the units of this structure can be taken on and gets the result that the dominating syntactic function is becoming the predicate in the sentence.The third part is the semantic analyze of separable structure"V+A_X+O". In this part, we compare the differences between the separable structure and the normal verb-object phrase structure and then analyze the semantic direction of formal attribute"X". The relation between"X"and the predicate is Case relation. That means the"X"is one argument designed by predicate and it has vary types thematic-roles in the sentence.The forth part focuses on the Argument Structure of separable structure"V+A_X+O". This part classes the"V-O"LIHECI to two types, the one is the single-verb LIHECI and the other is the double-verb LIHECI. The formal attribute"X"originates two ways: the argument enlarging in the single-verb LIHECI and the argument elevating in the double-verb LIHECI. Then we analyze the separable sentences'Construction meanings that ask for three arguments in the sentences. Last we discuss the reasons that promote the separable structure forming.The fifth part investigates the pragmatic function of the separable structure.
