Based on the modern Chinese verb-object structure of V-V compound words as the research object,we use the Generative Lexicon Theory to do research on this kind of compound words in the following three issues:firstly, the definition of the verb-object structure V-V compound words and dynamic element analysis;Secondly, the Constructional coercion of the verb-object structure of V-V compound words.Thirdly, the referential of the latter element the whole metonymic phenomenon of verb-object structure of V-V compound words.Through comparison and analysis,we distinguish the verb-object structure of V-V compound words from the formal verb compound verb and the continuous compound words and classify the V1 and get the semantic characteristics of the verb object dynamic compound words. It is found that V1 can be divide into two main categories——V1 semantic bleaching and V1 semantic specific. In the latter type,V1can be divide into three types——the type of action, the type of activity and the type of state. Then according to the theory of Constructional coercion, whether V2 is subjected to constitutive force analysis, probes into the various changes that occur in V2 in the configuration and classifies its references. After study,V2 also has two types——V2 is not subjected to construction coercion and V2 is subjected to construction coercion. And in the latter type,V2 has two types——V2 is a metonymic morpheme and V2 is not a metonymic morpheme.Thirdly,we discuss the whole metonymy phenomenon of the movable compound words and study its cognitive motivation and it is considered that the saliency of the argument role can be related to the metonymy.
