Objective: By study of international students in China on mental health status and its relationship with PTSD, to provide scientific evidence for managing and educating international students. Methods: SCL-90,PCL-C,TCSQ and self-designed Background Questionnaire were adopted as the measurement tool to investigate the subject. All collected data were stored in SPSS database. According to different gender, nationality and major, all data were analyzed by t-test, Variance Analysis, K-Independent Samples, Spearman Correlation and Polytomous Logistic Regression analysis. Results: All factors'score and the total score of SCL-90 of Korean international student group are higher than the ones of Japanese international student group and the other country international student group; except for Photic Anxiety, there is significant difference on all other SCL-90 factors'scores and the total score between Korean group and the other two groups. There is no significant difference on all factors'scores and the total score between Japanese group and the other country group. All SCL-90 factors'score and their total score of international students majored in non-language category are widely higher than the ones of international students majored in language category; except for Depression and Photic Anxiety, all the other SCL-90 factors'scores have significant difference between the two categories. The TCSQ assessment shows the average NC is 21.68±5.15 scores and the average PC is 29.28±5.45 scores. There is significant PC difference between Japanese students and Korean Students, and also there is significant PC difference for different gender international students. However, there is no NC difference for the comparison group of Japanese and Korean students, nor for the comparison group of different gender. The lowest PCL-C assessment score is 37 scores, while the highest one is 66 scores. There are 72 students initially diagnosed as PTSD positive through PCL-C assessing and filtering, taken 90%. Except for somatization andhostility, all other PCL-C factors'scores have positive correlation with PCL-C total score. All SCL-90 factors'score and their total score have positive correlation with NC, while they have no positive correlation with PC except for hostility. It has positive correlation for gender, single parent, maltreatment at childhood, and nationality 2 (Korean) with the total score and the average score of SCL-90, while it has negative correlation for major and age with the total score and average score of SCL90. Gender has positive correlation with PCL-C score, while major has negative correlation with PCL-C score. Conclusion: 1,Photic anxiety widely exists among international students in China. The mental health status of international students majored in language category is better than the ones of international students majored in non-language category; moreover, their stress and tension level are lower than the latter group. The major factors impacting on mental health status are gender, age, single parent, maltreatment at childhood, major and nationality. 2,There is significant PC difference between Japanese students and Korean Students, and also there is significant PC difference for different gender international students. However, there is no NC difference for the comparison group of Japanese and Korean students, nor for the comparison group of different gender. NC correlates positively with all factors'scores and the total score of SCL-90, while PC correlates negatively with hostility of SCL-90 only. It is easier for females to take positive coping ways than males. In addition, Korean students take more positive coping ways than others. A meaningful finding is that the crowd tending to take positive coping way, such as female and Korean students, has higher SCL-90 and PCL-C's scores than the crowd taking negative coping ways, such as male and other nationality students. 3,International students in China are high risk PTSD crowd with 90% PTSD positive, initially diagnosed through PCL-C assessing and filtering. Thus, this crowd has higher tension and stress level as well as mental health disorder. Except for somatization and hostility, all factors'scores and the total score of SCL-90 correlate positively with the total score and the average score of PCL-C. Gender and major are factors impacting on stress disorder and tension level. Female and majored in non-language category international students feel higher stress and tension level than male and majored in language category international students.
