Transformation And Reconstruction Of Human Value

China now is in its historical transition period and it urgently demands us to reflect on the human value completely. This thesis will put the theory of human value into the following four parts with the perspective of historical materialism.The first part of the thesis will discuss the source of human value theory. Generally speaking, Chinese focus on the collective and social value of the individual, considering the individual is clinging and inferior to the collective, which leads to the creation of the collective value. While the personal value is emphasized in the west and the social value of the individual is ignored, which develops the individualism value.The second part of the thesis will discuss the basic theoretical questions about human value and explain the concept and structure of human value based on historical materialism. This part will give a review of the Marxian theory on value, human nature and human value firstly; Secondly, it makes a new explanation of the content and structure of human value through discussing life value, personal value, social value and human value. Finally, it analyzes deeply the relation between human value and material value, which supports the following parts as necessarily basic theory.The third part of the thesis will emphasize on the transformation of the current human value. Human value has gone through several changes obviously and still continues to progress as usual. The reasons for the transformation are various. This part will discuss this phenomenon with the analysis of science and technology development, globalization, social transition and market economy. The transformation itself could be viewed as a kind of innovation or turbulence with wide and profound influence. The positive meanings include : first of all, the transformation of current human value will help strengthen individual subjective consciousness; Secondly, the transformation of current human value helps make the standard value transfer from power standard to capability standard. Thirdly, the transformation of current human value helps develop the cross-culture value orientation, which enriches the social diversity and improve the social renovation and vitality. Its negative influence lies in the potentially alienated relation between human value and material value, which splits them two further and creates spiritual crisis.The problem and crisis occurred during the transformation of current human value lead to the misadjusted activities about human value and strengthen the unsteady and out-of-order condition. We have to reconstruct the value system of the current people for the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The final part of the thesis analyses this problem emphasizing on its instructive principals, main content and main solution.
