Constructing harmonious society is mankind's fine pursue. The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee pointed out the concept of "harmonious society" after "the scientific concept of development". Based on the report of the 16th National Congress of CPC, the new strategic guiding ideology about Chinese economic and social development was pointed out by the CPC Central Committee with comrade Hu Jintao as the General Secretary. It is a significant endeavor based on the overview to build the well-off society in the all-round way and initiate the cause of the socialism with China's characteristics. It is also the further enrichment and development of the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics. The harmonious society should pay more attention to the overall and coordinated economic and social development.At the opening ceremony of "building a harmonious society" course, which was offered by the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and was attended by major provincial- and ministerial-level leaders, Comrade Hu Jintao pointed out that, developing socialist productivity are the material foundation for a harmonious society, developing socialist democracy can strengthen the political guarantee of the construction of harmonious society. And also developing advanced socialist culture is important for the construction of harmonious society. We should pay more attention to the cultural problems during the social development.
