The Research On Dragon Designs On Porcelains Of Song And Yuan Dynasty

There are many kinds of dragon designs on porcelains made in Song and Yuan Dynasty, which attract attentions from scholars. This paper, basing on the former study, researches on the types, phases and significations of the dragon designs.There is the foreword in the first part. Here the introduction about the description of dragon's appearance in literature is given first of all. After that, dragon designs on antique porcelains are sorted. Finally, there is the statement about the content of the former study and the research in this paper.The second part is about the sorts of dragon designs on porcelains. In this part, briefly, dragon designs on porcelains made in Song and Yuan Dynasty are introduced and sorted by different types. These dragon designs are divided into three sorts by the technology of decoration—the printing, the painting and the decoupage & appliquédragon design.
