P300-based lie detection is one of the most widely used ERP methods. In this study we aim to discuss the potency of the self-relevant information such as one's bank as the probe in lie detection .We try to improve the stimulus paradigm by using a force-attention method, and then compare the two stimuli and three stimuli paradigms.Through three experiments, we found:(l)We could now come to the conclusion that self-relevant information can be detected in lie detection. Evidence from experiment 1 and 2 shows that the probe's P300 amplitude is large than the nonprobe's. Though the P300 amplitude difference is statistically different, but not very significant, and the P300 wave is not clear enough in the topograph. The target's P300 amplitude is significantly large than the probe's and nonprobe's, and so is the P300 the target's latency. In contrast, in experiment 2,the probe's P300 amplitude is significantly large than the nonprobe's, which shows higher potential of lie detection.(2)When using the task relevant items of a mock crime ,either under three stimulus paradigm or under two stimulus paradigm, the probe's P300 amplitude is significantly large than the nonprobe's .There are close...
