A Study Of The Theme Of Revenge In Ethnic Minority Writings In The New Era

Subjects are always categorized and simplified in previous research on revenge literature, a method that apparently cannot meet the needs of the development of literature in the new era. Marginality and particularity of minority culture makes revenge, a soul-stirring theme itself, more thrilling. This thesis is mainly on the discussion of how "exotic" actions of revenge in minority literary works are presented by combing the motives, rules, and means of revenge and the state of revenge in the context of religion, which have been neglected for long time in minority writing.As an indispensable part of Chinese culture, the revenge culture embodied in minority writings, which is naturally related to writer's cultural identity and his/her psychology of writing creation, shows us not only a form of revenge culture in the context of multiculturalism, but also reflects the writers' emotion and their desire to be accepted and understood. Taking revenge as an observation perspective not only can help us detect a nonmainstream cultural form, but also evokes us to do introspection on modern civilization, which is of a great significance to our modern society.
