On The Mandarin Teaching Materials For Macau Tourism Industry

After Macau's return to the motherland in 1999, as a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China now, its exchanges with the mainland become more and more extensive in economy, culture, education and so on. Moreover, tourists to Macau increase steadily. It is an urgent and hot issue to improve the jobholders' spoken Mandarin ability in Macau tourism industry. However, the compilation of the Mandarin teaching materials for Macau tourism industry is a kind of new attempt and is still on its initial stage. It goes without saying that researches on this field are rare.This thesis, for the first time, conducts a relative deep research on the Mandarin teaching materials for Macau tourism industry, in which the three sets of Mandarin teaching materials used by college students in Macau are chosen to be the research subject and contrastive analysis is adopted as the research method.The thesis proves that the principle of pertinence, the principle of universal, the principle of scientificalness and the principle of interest and feasibility should be carried out in the compilation of the Mandarin teaching materials for Macau tourism industry. Furthermore, it contrasts and analyzes the contents and layouts of the three sets of Mandarin teaching materials mentioned above. It lastly points out their advantages and disadvantages so as to impel further reforms in the compilation of the Mandarin teaching materials for Macau tourism industry.
