It can be said that listening comprehension is the most important one among the five language skills in communication. And many linguists and foreign experts also believe that foreign language learning must be started from"listening".Obviously, it is self-evident that passing a barrier of listening comprehension is important in language learning.With the development of college English teaching and learning, the listening teaching absolutely emphasized the spreading of language knowledge but now it has evolved to a new stage that both language ability and communicative ability have been emphasized. However, owing to the limits of objective reality and the effects of subjective teaching and learning, to most students, it is still difficult to improve their listening ability. Many teachers and students feel it thorny to train the students'listening ability. The College English Curriculum Requirements emphasized the new listening teaching model should be built on modern information, particularly network technology to meet the reality needs. Therefore, how to design the scientific listening teaching model, which is the major concern in the reform of listening teaching, is the topic that needs to be discussed.As far as the exploration and research of English listening teaching is concerned, for a long period of time, many scholars at home and abroad have made a systematic study on it, together with great achievements in scientific research and teaching experiences to a certain degree. The thesis focuses on the research of web-based college English autonomous listening teaching and learning model. This theme is proposed from the enlightenment of the former practice and concepts. Based on the understanding of English listening teaching situation, we have made a research and teaching attempt on web-based college English autonomous listening teaching theoretically and practically, which in line with four learning theories, such as autonomous learning theory ,constructivist learning theory, schema theory and intrinsic learning theory. The innovation of this thesis lies in the objective design of college English autonomous listening teaching and learning under the internet circumstances.
