Chinese is a kind of language short of morphology.Overlapping of verb is a kind of morphology of Chinese and has its particularity.The studys about this side of modern Chinese emerged in an endless stream and have been being deeper and deeper.On the contrary ,the study about its history ,especially the study of modern times Chinese which had a substantive development,fell behind relatively.Now some people have brought new concepts and result of the study of modern Chinese into its study of history.But really whole,developing and systematic study hasn't been done.For this reason,it is very necessary to combine the present situation with the history and the generating of the Characters with the analysis of the function,to research the historical developmentment of verb overlapping of modern times Chinese.This paper try to make a historical and whole analysis(for example,the analysis of all kinds of forms,grammartical meanings,grammartical functions,the restriction on language's useness and the development of the forms of the overlapping,and so on)to make a newer explanation with new concepts and form a new angle.The paper can be shared by 4 parts:1. The study about the grammartical forms of the verb overlapping of modern times Chinese.We are going to research the situation of every stage,prove the results having appeared,and remedy the places not rnough to make the study about this side more perfect.2. The study of semantic restriction and grammartical meaning.There has been a system on the study of the field of modern Chinese.We make a contrasting and proving study,so that we can have a deeper knowlage about the essence of verb overlapping.3. The contrast and developing of v一v and vv in the verb overlapping of modern times Chinese.The origin of the form vv has been being a contravery problem in the field of Chinese grammar.Although some famous linguistics have the opinion as a main stream that the form vv was from the form v一v,it is not still very convincing because there is not conclusive evidence.This paper made a whole analysis for the language using functions,the example of early period and the prooves on phonology to have new finding and get new opinion.Besides,we research the developing decepline of the form v一v and vv in the overlapping of the two-sylabled word and the adjective and noun as verb.
