In human history, the relationship between man and nature has been the subject of concern, philosophy in different periods is in different levels, providing a different perspective. In mankind's history, we find that with the development of history, people has been paying attention to philosophical research on relationship between man and nature, its theoretical results will be used to adjust our action to nature. So if we want to change the relationship between man and nature, it must firstly complete the change of concept, recognizing that what are disharmonic natural factors in reality; to become the relationship between man and nature balanceable and harmonious, to achieve sustainable development, it is all-important to achieve the major theoretical breakthrough of the concept of man and nature to guide people. And the monument of the concept of man and nature is established by Marx and Engels. It is not to say that the concept of man and nature in Marx and Engels is perfect and absolute truth, but to say their concept of man and nature had made unprecedented achievements, achieved a major breakthrough in the theory and practical contribution. China today, especially for the building of the ecological environment, implementing the scientific concept of development and finding the road of sustainable development, the concept of man and nature in Marx and Engels provides a theoretical basis and practical guidance.This paper starts from the development process of relationship between man and nature, then analyses characteristics and development stages of the concept of man and nature, putting it under a large background of the times and theoretical premise, based on the life works of their concept of man and nature, we discuss its forming development stages and characteristics, Summing up the essence of the theory and practical significance.On the writing angle, the paper makes a more comprehensive description from many latitudes. Longitudinal time is a main line. First, we study the development process and achieved results of relationship between man and nature to provide theoretical origin to Marx and Engels' concept of man and nature. Secondly, their works is a prop, its main characteristics and qualitative theory is boundary, we divide Marx and Engels' concept of man and nature into embryonic period, the formation period and mature period to make expositions its important thinking, and demonstrate its theoretical characteristics and phase characteristics. Contrasting with others' is the horizontal appraisal method. First of all, they are compared with Feuerbach and Hegel and other comparative philosophers. Secondly, they are compared with the German classical philosophy, geographical determinism from the object principle and "rational" decision from subjective philosophical perspective on the relationship between man and nature. We want to express theoretical characteristics and historical contributions of the concept of man and nature in Marx and Engels by analyzing its highlights.The characteristics of paper are to seize Multi-perspectives of the concept of man and nature in Marx and Engels: existential perspective, practical perspective and historical happenology perspective, and outline the essence of theirtheory--practice is intermediary between man and nature, thereby Marx and Engelsreally end the idea of "no history in nature", and it's a significant contribution of Marx and Engels' concept of man and nature.
