A Transcendental Structure Of Chinese Classical Novels

The novel structure research is a very important domain of the novel aesthetics. Under Chinese culture, novel structure is a dynamic process, containing the creation and the presentation. The critics in ancient time have had many comments on the Chinese classical novels' technique and structure. Many scholars have special research on the novels, noticing the features of structure. But the attentions of these comments or theses about Chinese classical novels' structure are always on surface. In deep layer, Chinese classical novels have transcendental structures. This thesis is about the deep structure of Chinese classical novels, mainly studying the most famous four novels in Chinese history.The thesis has three parts. The first part begins with the definition of "structure", and pointing out the transcendental structure. The second part is a concrete text analysis, and elaborating the presentation of the transcendental structure and culture implication. The third part is mainly on artistic thought and aesthetic character.
