In our everyday life, events happened as sequences all the time. People could execute all the tasks fluently without knowing the rules underneath. SRT (Serial Reaction Time) task, as one of the most important paradigms used in sequence learning, helped us to examine the process of event sequence. Until now, we have found that people could achieve the rules that generate all the sequences, although what sequence representation is based was still a secret. In our experiments, we used special compatible visual object as irrelevant response effect, with the intention to make clear how response effect sequence contributed to sequence representation. In the study, postexperimental interview help us to evaluate explicit knowledge about irrelevant response effect sequence, and the increasing of reaction time at the trials of deviant irrelevant response effect would imply representation about effect sequence.Results turned out that,1, During postexperimental tests, we found, subjects can report knowledge aboutirrelation response effect sequence.2, The deviance effect on irrelevant response effect reveals the representation of thissequences, but reaction time increase at the trial following deviant response effect.3, Irrelavant response effect can't improve sequence learning .
