Chapter one is about the important concept of the theory of seeds and the classification of seeds. There are many concept about the theory of seeds. The main part of them are six characteristic of seeds , the four characteristic of the ability of perfumating,the four characteristic of the ability of being perfumated and so on. The content of this chapter is to make comment on the main content and classification of the theory of seeds.The first paragraph is to make comment of six characteristic of seeds. The second chapter of'the Discourse on the Theory of Consciousness-only'put forward the theory of six characteristic of seeds---the six condition under which seeds can be set up---which marked that the theory of seeds became perfect and rigor .This paragraph will introduce six characteristic of seeds separately.Alaya-Consciousness have the function of containing and hiding seeds. The seeds give birth to Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra give birth to seeds. Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is a all-law world and seed is the potential power. So the potential power of all-law world and all-law world are both contained in base consciousness. The seeds theory seeds plays an important role in the process that Alaya-Consciousness changes into all-law.The second paragraph is perfumation theory.The first problem is the changing of perfumation theory. The perfumation theory of consciousness-only theory includes four characteristic of the ability of perfumating and four characteristic of the ability of being perfumated the changing course of them is very complex. Here I will make an account on the main theory to interpret it's developing process briefly.The second problem is the perfumation theory of seeds in consciousness-only theory. consciousness-only theory is a quite complex system of learning and knowing. The concept of it is also very complex.In consciousness-only theory's seeds theory , seeds is the objective aspect of base consciousness.Seeds give birth to Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra perfumates seeds which form a cause and effect relationship But the whole process of perfumating which is unfolding and transformation of base consciousness doesn't depart from consciousness .So consciousness-only theory's seeds theory is the open close and flow process of consciousness. In Sutra Pitika's Dharma Master's view the opinion that all-law is thought- only inherit parable theory's Master's opinion. So Sutra Pitika's Dharma Master takes the whole world in the range of thought. Sutra Pitika's Dharma Master's perfumation theory proceeds in the range of thought.The third paragraph: the classification of seeds. According to different standards, there are many ways to classify seeds.1. According to the things seeds change into it can be classified into seeds of the same aspect and seeds of different aspet.2. According to the quality, it can be classified into contaminated seeds and uncontaminated seeds.3.Seeds is also called habit energies which can be divided into verbal expression habit energies, visible habit energies, egocentrism habit energies .4. According to origin ,seeds can be divided into base visible seeds and new perfumation of seeds.Chapter two is the relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra. The relation beteew seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is an important concept in consciousness-only theory.The whole consciousness-only theory is unfolded around this relation.This chapter discusses the evolvement and essential of the relation and the relation between it and the concept of Buddhist time.The first paragraph is the evolvement process of the relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra.It evolved gradually from the order of time into the relation of cause and effect logically.As the potential power cause is the clue of how it is changed into effect that impenetrate the whole process.In the process that the first Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra. Changes into the second Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra,the relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is to sum. Such relation incarnate the potential power.The second paragraph is the relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra in seeds theory.1. The relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is not the same or different.Seeds is the potential power that gives birth to Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra, but it needs the coming together of various conditions.Seeds is cause and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is fruit. Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra extincts immediately but habit energies still exists.That is Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra perfumates seeds. Habit energies has no function.So seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra are different.Both seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra are conditioned existence, seeds wait for the coming together of various conditions to generate Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra.Though Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra is dead and leaves habit energies which is seeds. Seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra don't come or go in the mutual transformation of immediate birth and dead.So seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra are not different.2. The vision world that seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra form..Hu Xiaohuang said: consciousness-only theory sets out from cognition and deducts exsistence which is cognition decides exsistence.In consciousness-only theory the exsistence in the exsistence theory of universe cann't be understood by human being.Human being can only understand vision world of Alaya-Consciousness.In consciousness-only theory's view the whole world is the projection of objective existence in base consciousness.It doesn't mean that consciousness-only theory denied objective world. Consciousness-only theory neither thinks that objective world is created by subjective heart.The vision world in Alaya-Consciousness is made up by seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra.3. The relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra and time . The putting forward of seeds theory responds this contradicted theory.The scholar of consciousness-only theory thinks that the past is dead with no defining characteristic.Future have not come ,that is non- defining characteristic. Only now is'objective aspect hasn't died, Own-nature still exists, living temporally abide. So the past and future are built based on now. Then how can the past activity be transmitted. It rely on the seeds as a potential power that build a cause and effect relation on the dead, Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra and future.Chapter three the relation between seeds and other important concept in consciousness-only theory.Seeds theory is very important in consciousness-only theory.Many concept in consciousness-only theory are related to it.This chapter introduce the relation between seeds and Alaya-Consciousness,the relation between seeds and suchness.The first paragraph: the relation between seeds and Alaya-Consciousness.1. Seeds and Alaya-Consciousness 2. Transformation of the basis of seeds in base Consciousness.The second paragraph the relation between seeds and suchness ,suchness and seeds that is the relation between noumenon theory and occurrence theory .Chapter four talks about the of rationality of Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned from the view of seeds theory.As the basis of Chinese Buddhism suchness arisal of conditions also has its own rationality. One will reach different conclusion from different point of view.The first paragraph is the argument of suchness arisal of conditions and Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned theory.1To paraphrase from contemporary scholar. This chapter includes some scholar's argument on the argument of suchness arisal of conditions and Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned theory.2.The attitude of contemporary consciousness-only theory scholar towards this problem.The second paragraph the rationality of Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned.1.Sir Lv Cheng's tidying up of Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned.2.The seeds theory is the important theoretical base of Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned.3.From the view of seeds theory the theory of the relation between the phenomenon of Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned and real mark.The third paragraph Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned's development from to experience arisal of conditions theory according to seeds. This paragraph is divided into three questions:1. to experience arisal of conditions theory 2. Sutra on the Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned 3. Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned's development from to experience arisal of conditions.This article mainly observes the important concept of seeds ,the relation between seeds and other important concept of consciousness-only theory and Sutra on The Primacy of the Dharma Gate Distinguishing Conditioned's development from to experience arisal of conditions around the relation between seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra .It finall Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra y the conclusion that seeds is the potential power of Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra, seeds and Skt. adhya^carati, samuda^ca^ra are neither the same nor different and so on.
