Being introduced into China, the philosophy of whole language innovative is an idea of humanist education. It emphasizes the whole educational process, pays more attention to the cultivation of humanity of students. At the holistic level of philosophy and methodology, the whole language system requires a comprehensive look at the issue. Proceeded from the overall interests and not stuck in a certain aspect, language can be viewed as a whole. Speech, vocabulary, grammar instruction should be integrated into a coherent whole. In traditional language teaching, listening, speaking, reading and writing are often trained separately. However, the whole language concept has emphasized the four parts as an indivisible whole.Based on the theory of comprehensible input and output, this paper tries to apply the whole language approach to oral English teaching and learning with an attempt to the teacher-centered methods into establishes a student-centered education, and change teacher's role from an instructor of knowledge and skills to an organizer, facilitator, and advisor, the present author tries to train the students in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing simultaneously, thus their oral English proficiency could be improved in a rapid and harmonious way. By using the language training scenes and context of language skills, the author provide opportunities for a large number of verbal expressions to train student's communication skills and interpersonal tact.
