The people who study about the Chinese grammar hold the different views on the origin of "his father "and" two front teeth", which are in "﹡Tom died his father" and "﹡Tom has fallen two front teeth ". This article studies about the phenomena by Univeral Grammar and draw the following conclusion:1. The noun phrases in these sentences are possessor and subordinate. The verbs in these sentences are ergative verbs. The sentences these ergative verbs compose are the sentences in whose D-Struktures there are the objects but not the subjects, namely "﹡died Tom's father", "﹡has fallen two front teeth of Tom".2. The D-Strukturs cannot be used directly in the human relations, and their noun phrases must be moved. According to "the Binding theory" and the nature of "the NP-t(race)", we can know " the direction of the NP-movement is to upward, but not to downward ". Therefore, we can found the theory of the NP-movement and determine the direction of the movement.(1)According to the nature of the ergative verb, the ergative verb cannot entrust the object with the akkusative case. But according to the GB theory and Burzio's generalization, all of the dominant NP must have the structural case, otherwise they cannot pass "the Case Filter ".So the object in the D-Strukture must be moved. This position only can be the subject position, namely the object is moved upward to the subject position and acts as the subject of the sentence. So the object in the D-Struktur is whole raising movement and composes the sentence in which there is the subject but not the object, namely "Tom's father died", "Two front teeth of Tom have fallen".(2) Under the similarly requesting, partial NP are moved raising. At the same time, we can find the Partitive Case for the part kept the home position, and it obtains the object. The part of the raising movement obtains the subject. So the partial object in the D-structure is raising movement, and compose the sentence in which there are the subject and the object, namely "﹡Tom died the father", "﹡Tom has fallen two front teeth".3. The part of the raising movement follows the arrangement principle of Chinese word orders, and the part meaning major part moves raising.4. The phenomenon of NP movement generally exists in the modern Chinese.5. The movement makes the sentence more free.
