From the perspective of cognitive theory, English learning process mainly concerns with language understanding and language outcome. Writing as an outcome skill plays an important role in English teaching. Writing teaching can not only confirm the knowledge which have learned before, but also develop their language skills. Language learning is not kind of abstract theory learning, as there is no such a set of principles that can be used in any situation without question, but to solve all concrete language problems: how to express the problems of things, concepts and experiences. When a language rule has not been interlined completely, the learner's language creative ability would make a lot of inappropriate sentences irrelevant to language rules. So it is requisite for foreign language learner to make language errors on the writing process.According to Interlanguage Theory (IT), making errors are inevitable because it is a necessary part of learning the target language. Language learners make progresses in making errors. How to realize the errors? How to analyze the errors? How to help learners to correct errors effectively? All these are the questions in foreign language teaching research. Error Analysis (EA) developed as a branch of applied linguistics in the 1960s. EA is the study and analysis of the errors made by the second language learners. EA may be carried out in order to obtain information on common difficulties in language learning, as an aid to teaching or in the preparation of teaching materials. EA can deepen the understanding of teaching process which provides practical help for teaching activities. Thus, EA holds great significance to foreign language teaching.English writing teaching has always been a hard point in the process of English teaching. Things become harder in case of vocational and technical college students (VTCS) with weak English foundation. Currently, there exists big problem about their English writing. They are afraid of writing. If not so, it turned out to be numerous wrong words and sentences. How depressed it is for a teacher to confront so much mistakes in a writing text of less than 100 words. So he may not know how to correct it. In this way, what the most urgent problems to solve are how to treat these mistakes, guide college students to analyze .correct and lessen mistakes, improve English writing level.By means of applying of the Theory of Interlanguage and Error Analysis into foreign language writing teaching , this paper try to generalize and analyze the common errors in college students' writing, apply the error correction into routine teaching, guide students properly to correct the mistake by themselves, highlight their wring interests and improve their English writing ability. Furthermore, in light of teaching experiment illustrates that Error Analysis Theory is not only inspired to English writing teaching of college students but effective to guide it as well.
