In the literature history, Jane Austen, the Shakespeare of prose, had skillfully used her limited but vivid experiences to carve on the inch of ivory. She showed the philosophy of life in the unromantic stories of love match of middle-class people.There is a v-form love pattern in all of Austen's six novels. This paper analyzes the intendment of Austen and tries to grasp the kernel of her idea and art.Firstly, there is an introduction of v-form love pattern, its basic modality and its variance. Then, there is analysis of the folklore character of this pattern from the novel's characters, plots and themes. To grasp the internal relationship of the style and meaning, this paper analyzes Austen's mental archetype and its manifest in her novels: the culture in her time, the books she had read, and her private experiences, all projected in her works by her sharp sensibility and extraordinary imagination. After the analysis of the pattern and its source, this paper points out that using folklore pattern to represent life is one of the basic characteristics of Austen's works and strengthen the reality of her works.In the second part, this paper analyzes the profound psychological meaning implied in the simple v-form love pattern. The supporting actor, the third party of the pattern, not only pushes over the development of the story, but also deepen the narrative: to reveal the psychological process in love and make the protagonists reflect on themselves. Jane Austen wrote out the most profound conflicts of the complex human nature in this process of crash and reflection.For a further analysis of Austen's care for ethics and humanity, in the third part there is a focus on the community's ethical connotations of v-form love pattern. With her unique wisdom and carefully thinking, Austen expressed her ideal marriage pattern: both emotional and material foundations are the necessary conditions of a perfect marriage, and ethics is an absolute requirement for personal happiness. At the same time, as a woman, Austen believed that women should have an independent personality and a certain wisdom to remain independent, so she can make rational choice for her love and marriage and obtain her happiness. Because the women was in the inferior position of society, Austen didn't demand that women must get the same position with man, she attached great importance to the self-fulfillment of female.For the two hundred years, Austen shines like a star in the sky of world literature, her talent and unique charm exhibited in the traditional aesthetic form has been recognized and given high recognition, giving us different inspiration in different times.
