A New Account of Tales of the World became a book in YuanJia period in Liu Sung. It used vivid language to write down the image of preeminent intellectuals. And established an integrated system to appraise character in Chinese aesthetics history. The system appraised intellectuals about their feelings, personalities, ability and wisdom, and appearances. This text mainly from the angle of view of comparative research with the past dynasties to discuss the differences and similarities in the character appreciation between the period in A New Account of Tales of the World and the Confucian and Taoist of Earlier Qin, and Han Dynasty. And discussing the special meanings in the aspects such as Chinese history of thought, Chinese aesthetics history and literary history etc. This text will discuss the person's character of Confucian, the person's character of Taoist in the Earlier Qin, person's character of Han Dynasty and the character of intellectuals in A New Account of Tales of the World.
