Michel Foucault's view of author, to some extent, is the aesthetic discovery of the subject-secret on "Human died"---that is, the aesthetic deconstruction of traditional subjectivity, is also the quite deconstruction of traditional view of author, in addition, is the aesthetic statement that leads to self-writing. The author explores the problem from three aspects separately, and mainly from the constructive connection of the three aspects to deduce that the essence of Foucault's view of author is to exploit the aesthetic dimension of self-existence.As aesthetic statement of subjectivity, Foucault's view of author develops from his discovery on the problem of subject that "Human died". From the point of the development of western aesthetic subjectivity, one of the important characteristics of traditional subjectivity is to put author as the logical precondition of theoretical development, which ensures subject become an invariable source of meaning. However, Foucault thinks human acts as subject just appeared in 19th century in the very social and historical condition; since god died, human is doomed to die out. Its essential is to question the transcendental validity of the subject role author plays. Since the foundation of traditional subjectivity is author, Foucault's view of subject such as the birth and death of human deconstructs subject and points directly to traditional view of author simultaneously. As aesthetic deconstruction of traditional view of author, Foucault's theory of author, from the stand-by angle of view of Archeology of knowledge, finds there is not any transcendental restriction in the forming of discourse stating subject, but a special and blank position. If author is subject in traditional subjectivity, Foucault's statements suggest the subject of discourse narration is not author. In order to further reveal the essence of author, Foucault restated "Human died" with "The death of the author", which leads his track of thought to the discourse narration of authorial function, to the aesthetic dimension of self-existence.As an aesthetic statement leads to self writing, Foucault's theory of author shows in discourse narration that there is no metaphysical author-subject, author is a kind of discourse-function. Thus it shows writing has dual features of both writer and existing form. Foucault who uses ancient Greek and Roman moderate ethic for reference, and who get rid of author's peremptoriness with the disappearance of subject and the death of author, made literature be of opening. And he thinks that self-existence should neither turn into extreme nihility nor into complete subjectivity but make self-construction freely and selectively. Due to this, he regards literary writing as techniques of self-creation, self-innovation and self-molding. Foucault's writing activity itself suggests literary writing is not a road cognitive subject acquires truth, but a process in which self enjoys aesthetic freedom; literary writing is hot the center to construct self-culture but one of the ways self freely chooses to take good care of oneself...
