Research On The Death Theory Of Author From The Perspective Of Linguistic Turn In The Case Of Bart, Foucault And Lacan

Since the end of the 19th century,the experience,subject and nous has been replaced by language in the field of Western traditional thought,due to which the whole humanities turned to the study of linguistics.Viewing from Russian Formalism In the inception of 20th century, language has always been the attention focus of literary critics since then. Meanwhile,the subjectivity collapse in the language structure,which is even considered as the rise of the author death theory,means the beginning of the language in academic. However, the theory of author death is definitely not a neat slogan but a theoretical proposition full of issues and the essay hereby seeks to analyze three representative theorists(namely Roland · Barthes,Foucault and Lacannamely) view.Excluding the introduction and conclusion, the paper is divided into three partsThe first part is to discuss Roland barthes’s view "the construction of the writer is a kind of language". This chapter analyzes the background in which Bart puts forward "the death of author" of saussure’s linguistics and the Heidegger’s phenomenology, and discusses the connotation of the theory "the death of author" respectively from three aspects:the author and writing,the author and works, the author and the reader.He insisted on the view that it’s language representing the social and historical tradition that played a decisive role and it’s the language structure but not the author that endowed meaning to the text in literary activities.The second part mainly discusses the Foucault’s theory that the author is the functional characteristics of the theory of power discourse practice. First analysis the Foucault’s subject critical theory " human’s subjectivity expansion led to the rise of the subjectivity authority". Foucault tred to explore from the point "what is the author" to acquire the essence of the author. He explored the author subject construction and operational rules on the basis of discourse theory,and started the text color of politics with the author functional words. The existence of the author is a kind of discourse function, committed to the discourse subject, the author writes automatically in the effect of discourse.Part three expounds the subject theory of lacan. the first quarter discusses the separation process of Lacan’s subject theory through the relationship between the signifiant and the signifie of saussure; the second quarter discuss separation process of the subject from the little other to the Other, the process of the main body in the unconscious and language thoroughly split death, he became. The third section discusses the writer in the literary activities is also an Other, the generation of the text is actually the talking from the author unconscious under the main body, the author is actually an " Other".The theorists’ the author of death theory consistently deconstructed the subjectivity of the author and the author was considered as just a little grand structure in the network nodes as well as the existence of text production and text meaning. Deconstructing the subject has helped to get greater freedom and prolonged the author of the the life of the text in the reader and the author’s conversion. However, theorists just provided strategies but didn’t really solve the problem of the author. The philosophy background of the theory of author’s death is the criticism of the human subjectivity and it has brought many consequences since established, so criticizing person’s subjectivity has led to criticism of the author’s authority. Against the authority of the author doesn’t mean to kill it and remove it, but to make the subject open and running other than a closed and static subject. And the author should be transfered from subjectivity to intersubjectivity so as to keep a dialogue with other subjects.
