The Table of Premier's Generation after generation in New Historical Records of Tang Dynasty (the Table of Premier's Generation after Generation is the abbreviated form) is the only big table which recorded the family tree beyond the emperor's genealogy in twenty-four histories,it contains three hundred and sixty-nine Premiers of Tang Dynasty,and ninety-eight surnames altogether of their genealogy.The table mainly reflects the big genealogy and aristocratic family from the Northern & Southern Dynasty to the end of Tang Dynasty.There are many people and their names, afficial position which isn't narrated in biography of New-old historical records in Tang Dynasty.These are very valuable for reference to studying the history, literatare, society and so on in Tang Dynasty.So the researchers of Tang history attach importance to it.However,the Table of Premier's Generation after Generation has many defects and errors because of the war, copy and spread and printing,etc. From the former research, we can see that there are plenty of errors about name, official position in the Table of Premiers Generation after Generation, furthermore some of them are different from the biography of New-old historical records in Tang Dynasty.As to the defects are more universal.This affected the value for reference as history document in the Table.A lot of scholar have rectified and complemented the Table since Song Dyansty.As one of the stone tablet materials, more important,the epitaph recorded the Generation after Generation of the grandfather,father,son,grandson to the Master of epitaph and the situation of their official position besides the primitivation and stability that the stone inscription has.The epitaph takes a great part in number and can complement the defects of historical records.This thesis rectified and complemented the Table indispensably by using a lot of epitaph materials of Tang Dynasty that unearthed in recent years on the basis of the former rectification and complement.We mainly correct the errors of the Generation after Generation in the family tree,in order to provide authentic,stable and abundant data for studying the history of Tang Dynasty.
