The formation of the style is the mature symbol of the movie director and the demonstration of the artistic making and esthetic pursue of their own. JohannW·Goethe said that this is the highest boundary which art can reach, art is the boundary which cancompete with the great effort of humanbeings. FeiMu who has the poetical style directed the black-and-whit movie Spring in A Small Town in 1948 which hold the pivotal position in the Chinese movie history, the artistic charm and the poetic sentiment expression which the movie contained ,lasted for a so long time,caused it become an immortal work. For more than half a centuries later, the Chinese director of the fifth generation Tianzhuangzhuang has reshot the movie by his own understanding and the performance style. Because the story, the character,the plot of the movie has minute difference. To manifest his creation value which has great difficulty. Due to the difference between the two directors , as a result of the artistic style which the movie manifests differerntlyng, bringing the different taste to the audience . It provides us a good model to study the difference of the director's style to the movie narrative.This article compares the new and old version movie Spring in A Small Town to study and unify DavidBonwell's theory to make a explanation the relation between the director's style and the movie's story and show that the director's style has great influence to the movie narrative.
