Since we're not familiar with the tradition of western culture, our frequently reading the western modern classics by the Eastern culture field of vision and reading by mistake orinterprets literally have become the inevitable matter, and so it is with The Sound and the Fury.The Sound and the Fury, as one of Faulkner's epic poem works, referred to Joyce's writing techniques to a great degree, is different is that Joyce used the tramp experience of Greek hero Odysseus as its hidden clue what Faulkner made the history of the Holy Bible the hidden structure of the novel its. Thus, understanding of and knowing well to the Holy Bible, becomes a key to understanding The Sound and the Fury. This also is the key to understanding other western modern literature classics.The 20th century Hope theology has provided a new sight for us to the western modern text understanding. This article tries to make clear the connection between The Sound and the Fury by Faulkner and the tradition of the Holy Bible in the eyes of the modern Christianity. This may become the 14th way of watching the crows.In fact, Faulkner's backward time view, the technique of the stream of consciousness to show inner feelings and the Holy Bible images and the stories in the text everywhere and the naming of the text, the structure and the unique characteristic of the characters' destinies, unceasingly are reminding us of this fact that Faulkner was deeply affected by the US south Puritanism.We should say Faulkner in is contaminated in the religion. The conception on moral ethics, philosophy and thinking mode are one of the in-depth reasons for the profound multiple subjects in the Faulkner art creation and the pioneer characteristic of his modern novel art, which were formed in Faulkner's life and religion he has addicted in.
