Narrative Structural Study On Integrated Thinking

This thesis puts forward a way of narrative structural analysis: from the integrate to the parts , which can adapt with Chinese traditional integrated thinking .So this thesis takes Soushenji as a typical example to study many structure forms and characters that lie in Chinese narrative tradition, and to study how did these structure forms change in the narrative history. Then this thesis studies the soul of the narrative art reflected in the structure,so it adds the aesthetic dimensionality to the narrative structure study.This thesis consists of four Chapters. In the Introduction, it tries to catch the differences on narrative structure between China and the West , which lie in three aspects : the concept on structure, the analyzing ways on structure and the constructive character. Then we can strengthen our understanding about the narrative structure. Chapter one concludes two parts. Firstly, it studies why did narratology become an art, and then introduces the situation of the Soushenji. Then it put forward a structure study way of mine on integrated thinking: add historical and aesthetic dimensionality in the narrative structure study. Chapter two is the center of the thesis, which studies three types of narrative structure, and draws the outline of their historical evolution. It also discusses the advantages of these narrative structures, in order to search out the contribution made by ancient Chinese people on the narrative art. Chapter three tries to find the relationship between the narrative structure and the soul of narrative art on the base of previous accounts. It discusses the soul of the narrative art and the contribution to it made by"Soushenji".
