The status identification is a cultural hot spot under the globalization background and it has never been separated from people's sight in all ages. Therefore the regional culture identification needs to be concerned under the national cultural identification. This is respectful to the regional culture difference. The regional culture identification takes the regional culture image as the medium, but the literature imagines and narrates is an important way of regional culture image construction. The regional culture image molded by the literature imagination is the special form of the imaginaire social. People inherit the collective imagination to some regional culture through texts, thus causes people to identify with this region's culture characteristic. This article adopts the"literature imagination-regional culture image-regional culture identification"logical mentality and limits the research scope to Shandong, the cradle land of Oilu culture. It aims to inquire into the function of literature imagination and narrates in constructing the regional culture identity through reviewing the developing process of Shandong cultural image from the literature angle of view. The paper is based on the cultural theories related to status identity and the mirror stage theory. It combines with the classicial literature texts of shandong in explaining the construction of shandong regional cultural image and its constitutes and its influence on regional cultural identification. This thesis does the diachronical research on Shandong contemporary literature by using logical methods such as induction and deduction. It clings to the three kinds of regional culture images:"hero Shandong","common custom shandong"and"mysterious Shandong"and breaks through the bouadry between the ancient and contemporary literature, opening up the new horizon of Shandong literature and culture research. The paper can be divided into four major parts.Chapter One: regional culture and status identity. This part mainly introduces the status identification theory and the"mirror stage theroy"and elaborates the necessity of the status identity. Globalization, instead of hiding the identification problem, brings the regional culture identification problem by giving prominence to the diversity.The regional culture identification is a long process and needs certain intermedium to construct. Understanding the historical evolution and its characteristics is the premise to analyze Shandong regional culture image.Chapter Two: Regional culture image and literature imagination. This part chiefly elaborates the construction of literature imagination to regional culture image, and is the main theory part of the thesis. The regional culture identification relies on the regional image medium, and the major way of image constructing is literature imagines and narrates. The regional culture image is the special performance shape of imaginaire social, and its relation to regional culture is complex, however, it could be roughly divided into isomorphism and diversity. The Shandong temple culture images constructs the mainstream culture conscious of Shandong citizen image, while Shandong flok culture image is the deviation to the Shandong temple culture. The former demonstrates the legitimate of Oilu culture and the latter has more folk color.Chapter Three: Shandong culture image in traditional literature field of vision. The"hero Shandong"culture image molded by"Shui Hu Zhuan, the"common custom Shandong"culture image molded by"Jin Ping Mei"and the"mysteirous Shandong"culture image molded by"Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio"are the main narrative type which affects hundred year's Shandong literature. This chapter carries on the analysis to the three kinds of mothe culture image and points out its main factors in influencing the Shandong culture image of later generation.Chapter Four: The modern reforming of Shandong culture image. This chapter analyzes the inheritance and evolution of the three mother culture image in comtemporary literature. The culture image of The"hero Shandong",which is relatively more active ,develops continually, and form diverse conbinations with ideology in different times. While"common custom Shandong"and"mysterioos Shandong"are temporarily been constrained by different kinds of factors. they develops slowly and havn't been refleshed until the new times in the appropriate cultural linguistic environment. By the end of twentith century, these three cultural image communaly developed, to a great degree, protraying people's recognization on Shandong culture. As the changing and developing of Shandong, Shandong literature needs to break through the traditional imagination sight, constructs the new Shandong culture images, and enriches our literature imagination on culture identification.
