In order to improve the minority's poverty and backwardness in the rocky and mountainous area in Guangxi Province, the people's government of Guangxi Province separately moved the minority in the mountainous area to the better land and mountainous area in the year 1952—1953.The immigration of Yao Nationality in Xishan of Donglan County was the key point of the immigration in the great rocky and mountainous area in Guangxi.The implementation of the immigration of the people in the mountainous area was the important part of the first attempt of Party's immigration policy, reflecting the greatness of Party's minority policy and the superiority of the socialist system. The implementation changed the Yao immigrant's survival environment, advanced the foundation of Bama Yao Autonomous County, accelerated the economy and culture prosperity and development, promoted the Yao nationality and the local nationality's blending, and made the Yao people's thought and idea change deeply.Study of the Yao immigrants history and culture in the period widened the vision and the content of the study on the helping the poor and the voluntary immigrants in the mountainous area. And the study proceeds the research vision of the helping the poor and the voluntary immigrants from the 1980s to the 1950s, making up for the weak study of the predecessor's.Yao nationality immigrants study is the important part of the Yao study. And the study of it can rich and perfect the Yao study system, helping us understand the society and culture of the Yao immigrants.Analyzing and summing up the experience and lesson from the immigration of the Yao people in Xishan of Donglan County can provide the historical model for the immigration of the minority in the mountainous area at present and in the future.
